This is a funny one.
Long story short... my training/racing, lack of sleep, and too-much-fun caught up with me this weekend. You know a race is gonna hurt when your legs feel like crap during the warm up!! Needless to say - this was a suffer-fest that turned into a tempo workout instead of a race BUT - I'm glad it happened this week - 'cause, now, being smart about this, I'm gonna listen to the old body and chill the f*** out this week before the real racing begins (Deer Creek OLY next week). To add insult to injury... I realized at the start line that I forgot to put on my timing chip - so - no record of my misery. Must have been an omen ;-)
If you like doing run races and you've never done Blossom Time - put it on the calendar for next Memorial Day weekend. Its a challenging course at a fantastic venue in Chagrin Falls. Lot's of fans on the course and a great finish line. Good to see Ben, Brian K, Brian L, Patrick, Erin, Marty, Chris, and Elizabeth out there. Who'd I miss ??
Huge congrats to Elizabeth who was the first overall female in a big / competive race. She was absolutely flying out there. Most impressive. What a year you are having!

Mark,
Knowing you had an awesome Boston Marathon, and a super fast Revco.............I was only wondering when you were going to fly by me and catch Elizabeth...............
She had a super race........
Lead legs before a race, can be a good indicator, that you may not want too have such high expectations for that day..... Listening to one's body, "your awareness", is a very smart key to training and racing to avoid injury.......
Brian
p.s. Great job to all, who ran....... You got to love the National Anthem being sung, and then the "Shotgun" start......

Obviously I am late to this party Thanks Mark and Brian! And great races, that was a toasty day! One of our veterans from the SERC club had to get an IV with just .25 to go so you know it was hot!
