I am just getting started. I belong to two gyms but neither have a pool. I need to get into the swimming part of my training but have no idea where to find a pool that doesn't require a membership. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

hmmm. Here are some thoughts: Any public pools near you that may open soon ?? For example - in Lakewood and Bay on the westside, there are public pools that can be used for a small fee. Open water swimming will begin after Memorial Day in Bay (west), Bratenhal (east) and Monroe Falls (south) - so - you can get some time in the water with support. My first year, I trained in a really small pool and really relied on the open water swims to get me through a 1/2 mile swim. You will survive, but, you definately won't swim up to your potential unless you find a pool and get some quality interval work in. What side of town do you live in ??

Depends what the budget allows. If it rules out a real pool, hit up the open water sessions as much as possible.
If you can afford it, a solid pool is very beneficial.

Some high schools and colleges have open swims. Where do you live/work?
