Mickey - another great race despite Mother Nature trying to blow us away - literally! We had 50 mph winds to contend with as well as the excellent sticky mud and cool / crisp conditions.
I have been to every one of these races for two reasons:
There are not many trail runs available and I love this type of race.
Mickey puts on a great race, a nice safe and fun venue, and we love it. We being my 4 year old daughter who keeps sewing up the under 8 year old division year after year!
Anyway, after jogging the 1 mile race with Kate and barely arriving back before the start of the 4 miler, I took off and hit the mud! Three laps of mud, wind, and flying leaves produced a very unexpected but welcome 2nd place Male overall!! Not bad for a training race months from the big goal: Chicago Tri. I hope the form only gets better from here (that is the plan!)
