Anyone have this happen?
I was running today and was attacked by 3 dogs
one came at me from the front and jumped into me and caused me to trip then another grabbed my ankle
They were not big dogs only knee high , but caught me off guard
the owners saw it all and came out
I would have picked them up and punted them if the owners were not there
broke the skin on ankle
was to be a 10 mile run
turned it into a 7 miler
anyone have this happen?

None have actually attacked me, but there's one in my neighborhood that does not get tied up. It was loose on my run yesterday and when I saw it running through its yard at me, I turned and changed my route immediately.

I usually just stop and pat them on the head, then I give them a biscuit if they will roll over.
If they try to steal the biscuits I spray them in the eyes with my water bottle.

One of my pet peeves is people who don't leash their dogs in public places, like the parks.
(Pun intended.)

Never been attacked but have had to out run them a lot.
When I was in college (Dayton Flyers) there were two great experiences involving dogs:
1. The local loop for cycling had a very steep 18% grade hill. After the cycling team crested the hill (obviously in oxygen debt), we had to put down a 30 mph sprint to get away from the 180ish lb male Rottweiler who lived at the top of the hill. At first we were petrified of the beast but later saw it as a great challenge!
2. On another cycling team training ride, we had a smallish dog come running at us off his porch like a bat out of hell. His angle was off so he ended up coming at us from behind and chasing. He watched us intently as he tried to close the gap when all of the sudden, he missed seeing the fence post in his path. Wham!! He knocked himself out cold from the collision. We about fell off the bikes laughing! He did come to in a few minutes a little disoriented but OK. I hope he learned his lesson.
