The Crazy Coyote Time Trial Series returns for 2010!
This is a training series featuring a bike time trial that is timed. It will be held at various locations once a month from April thru July.
Each event will start at 9am with registration beginning at 8:30 am. The first rider goes off at 9am and each subsequent rider goes off at one minute intervals. The time for each rider is recorded and then ranked for placing.
For those of you that have never done a time trial, this is a great way to test your legs and hone your cycling skills so you will be better come competition time.

Hope to see everyone out at the time trial this Saturday. If anybody can volunteer to time or man the turnaround, that would be great!

How far is the TT? And does the course head North or South from the designated start area?

The distance is just under 10 miles (5 out and 5 back) and goes North from Mastick Road. Check the forum posting for all the details and a map of the course.

The Crazy Coyote Time Trial Series is a great way for members of CTC to get a chance to practice their bike skills prior to a triathlon. There are many opportunities to jump into a 5k race or swim in meets with Masters programs but there were not a lot of opportunities to simulate the bike leg of a tri.
How does it work? For those of you who have never done a time trial, the format is easy. Every rider, upon sign in, is given a start time. The times are spaced one minute apart. Every rider does the exact same course. The courses vary from flat to rolling to hilly. Some are out and back and some are multiple loops. The distance can vary from 5 to 15 miles. Each rider starts on their assigned start time and they complete the course as fast as they can (just like a tri bike leg). After they finish, their time is recorded and all the riders are ranked by time. The fastest time wins.
Sunday, May 23rd, 9:00AM Meadows Picnic Area, Brecksville
The Brecksville venue is probably the most beautiful of them all and is rolling hills. This is a 3 loop course for a total of about 12 miles.
Sunday’s weather looks great. I plan to be out there around 8AM to get in some easy miles and loosen up the legs. Then ride the TT and probably ride some more after if anyone is interested.

Tim, Thanks for putting on the TT yesterday; it was a great time. I look forward to coming out for some of the others later in the season. Steve

Here is the info for the 3rd installment of the Crazy Coyote on Saturday June 12th. This will be a fast and flat ride in Willoughby's Osbourne park at the intersection of Lakeshore and Lost Nation. The event will have registration at 8:30 and at 9am we will all take a group lap as warmup. After that, the riders will take off at one minute intervals. Times will be compared and the winner will be crowned! Hope to see all of you out there this weekend. The last Crazy Coyote had a great turnout and was a lot of fun. Attachments:

Please check here on Saturday morning as there is a potential for some strong T-storms to be passing through. If there is lightning and T-storms, we will have to cancel the Crazy Coyote. I will post early if we need to cancel.
