Greg: Yes, I did this race last year. You will be in a wave of 12 athletes doing a 15 min. swim. 2 per lane with a volunteer counting your total lengths. Then you can change and go to spin bike room.
These spin bikes have speed & distance computers on them. The spin bikes were calibrated by putting the pedals at 3 & 9 o'clock then putting 2 10 lb. barbell plates on the pedal and then loosining the tension till it dropped. After all bikes were set, you could hop on and start with distance reset. No one was permitted to touch the tension knob during the race. It was a 20 min ride for most distance, for me it was long, boring, and painful. The race timer would call out time remaining. Towels were provided and needed. Push yourself on the bike , even a .02 mi. distance less can change your placing (as I learned)
Then on to run track in upper balcony leval surrounding 2 basketball courts. You will meet your volenteer who will count your laps and even hand you your water bottle. All 12 start together for 20 min. of many, many laps. The volunteers were cheering at each lap and helpful.
All distance totals were added up for results. I had fun last year, volenteers were swell! and good snacks and energy bars. Most of those racing last year seemed like first timers and members of the health club. I'm out this year. Good Luck!
