I just registered for the Wildflower Half Iron Tri (May 1st). A couple friends from Philly are going as well and doing the Olympic race on May 2nd. Reddy is going as well and probably doing both races. For those that aren't aware, this is an awesome event - something that everyone who is into this sport should do at least once. Here's some info on the event: - They call it the "woodstock" of triathlon - Over 8,000 people race between the half and olympic - Its in the middle-of-nowhere, California (Lake San Antonio) - half way between LA and San Fran. - Its all camping - The closest hotel is 50 miles away. - The olympic race is a collegiate competion - so - to say the least it can be really entertaining over the weekend. - There is food and total tri-dom in the festival area - the burritos are fantastic. If interested, open registration begins on December 1st. They also offer a short mountain bike tri on Saturday (May 1st). Let me know if anyone else is thinkin' about it - we can advise on logistics. I guarantee its a GREAT time out there. I really wanted to do this race. I've heard nothing but positive reviews. I was going to do it with Team In Training, but I don't think I could raise the $5,600.

I did the Olympic in 2006. An incredible weekend. Everyone should do it at least once.
