That's "Cross my Heart and Hope to Die Cyclocross Spectacular", the 4th race in the Lake Effect series. It's this Saturday at Todd Field in downtown Willoughby. What's cross you might be asking? It's a horrible suffer-fest where you ride your cross bike (road style bike with wider clearance for larger knobbie tires and inferior cantilever brakes to your typical duel pivots) or your mountain bike around a short loop with various obstacles for about 45mins to an hour. It's wet, it's cold, it's muddy, and it hurts. So basically, right up some of your alleys! It's grown men (and women) playing in the mud....tons of fun! You can find the link to the race flyer at www.spinbikeshop.com where the calendar lists local cycling events of all kinds (cross, road, mtn, etc) or go to the direct link here - www.teamspin.com/documents/spin%20cross%20flyer%202009.pdfBest of all, there's shwag! Not crappy stuff you don't want either, nice gear that you'll actually use! The A race pays out cash 10 deep. Don't want to race? Join us for a beer at Willoughby Brewing Company immediately following the races. See ya Saturday!

I'll be at the trail race this weekend, so will miss Spin's, but will be at one or both of the Halloween weekend races in Chagrin Falls.

I'll be volunteering... which might actually be less fun than racing cross if the weather is extra crappy. (sorry, 'horrible suffer-fest' does not attract me at all!) Looking forward to a Pumpkin Ale after though.
