Is anyone going to the Greater Cleveland Triathlon training day this Saturday in Mentor?
I'm just curious of what the format will be - anyone know? I think lake temps are still in the mid-50s - is that warm enough swimming in with a wetsuit? Anyone been out yet in the lake?
Thanks! Debbie

That lake is still pretty cold . . . even with a wetsuit. I'll be riding the half IM bike course . . . be prepared to do some hill work! There's quite a nice climb on Sperry road going into Holden Arborateum and Mulberry road isn't exactly flat either. ! C'mon tri club! Get out there and give this course a test run! Daniel

I'll be there. I'm training for the half-IM, but am not ready to ride 56 miles yet. Are we seriously planning on riding the whole course on Saturday? If so, anyone interested in just doing part of it? I'm thinking 35 miles.
Jen
P.S. You won't see me in the lake yet, even with a wetsuit. Brrrr!

I was just thinking the same thing Jen! It will be my first half IM too and am in the midst of training for it. The most miles I've done on a bike so far is around 35 and the most I've run is 9. I was asking to see what the format was going to be because I didn't know if it was going to be a "free for all" sending us off with maps or if it was an organized training day, breaking people into groups. I am up for a 30-35 mile ride with maybe a short run (2-3 mi) following just to start some brick work if there isn't a real format and anyone wants to join me. Oh and I'm by-far not fast - I'm hoping for this to be a "fun" training day. ;D Deb

It already up... Check out the training page for the details. I am also planning to run about 20-30 min after the sprint ride. If anyone wants to join me. ANGIE

There is a way to cut off 15 to 20 miles of the half IM bike course . . . I'll point it out to everyone on the map before we step off for the ride.
The entire bike course, sprint and half IM, have arrows marking every mile and every turn, except on the turn onto Chestnut from Johnnycake Ridge on the half IM course.
See ya on Saturday!
Daniel
