Did anybody race in the Rite-Aid yesterday? My wife and I did the 10k. My time ~58. My wife was faster than me by at least a few mins.
Curious to see how everyone did.

I did the half-marathon yesterday too. I was pacing a friend whose previous longest distance run was 8 miles. She'd had a baby in February, so didn't get to train as much as planned but was still determined to do the race. I couldn't let her do her first half alone with so little training. We started out slowly and built up to our last 3 miles being our fastest. We finished just under 2:29. While being the slowest of my three half-marathons (PR of 2:05), it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I ran it with her.
I talked to her today and she is sore, but walking around. She is also extremely proud of herself as she should be.
I thought the half-marathon course was pretty cool (lots of west side and downtown sights to see) and the finisher's medal looks great! Only one water stop was out of water, but otherwise the aid stations were well stocked. Overall, I would give the race an A and would run it again.

I ran the 10K to see where my fitness level is at for the HFP International series. I hadn't done a straight 10k in many years. Finished with a 39:45 after being passed by a guy in the last 100 yards like I was standing still.
Congrats to all who ran yesterday. My wife got one of those cool color medals for her Half.
I know I was hot at the end of the 10k and it was getting warmer for the half and marathon runners.
Saw alot of Veritcal Runner shirts in all distances.

I did the 10K. What a nice day to race. I beat my last year time by 1:18. Total 49:41. Can't complain. I saw Jen come in from the Half... .. I yelled your name... did you hear. Great that you helped your friend finish.
The food at the end was a strange mix of stuff but overall I thought that the race was well organized and fun. ANGIE

I also had a good 10K race and thought the course was fast. My time was the fastest 10K time in 7 years. I was happy with my 38:05 time. Must be all the cross training I've started since doing triathlons last summer. Lou Dregely

Don't talk to me about blistering speed. Some of us are just happy to keep moving. I was happy that I wasn't last as there were people behind me (I had a 2:17) It was a great time and it sure beats being a veg !

I'm not a runner at heart but I had a blast running the Rite Aid 10K. The runners and the course was great! I wanted to see if I could even make 6.1 miles. I finished with a 58:37!
Congratulations to everyone's achievements!!

Saw alot of Veritcal Runner shirts in all distances. Eric, There definitely was a ton of VR shirts out there and we could not be more proud of the achievements by our friends and family. We had about 6 first time marathoners and a equal number of 1st time half-marathoners. I paced a guy from our running group the second half. Vince raced the half, then went back out on the course to get his brother in law who finished his first marathon in 4:25. All in all I think he did about 30 miles. Good training for his 70 mile race coming up in June I guess. Next up is RACE For The Parks this weekend. You can register day of or online at ACTIVE.com, I am sure that you will se alot of VR shirts there. We are giving away over $1,500 in prizes!
