I am currently working through an It band strain. It sucks real bad. Any of you who have had it, what have you done to treat it and what have you done to make it not come back again? The doc told me to shut down the running for a few weeks. He did say I could swim and cycle. He basically said rest it. What has worked for all of you?

Not just the IT band either. Hamstrings, calfs, and glutes. Especially the glutius medius.

Aussie and the doc are right but I would suggest a good massage therapist - I am a habitual offender to the ITB and my mass therapist keeps me on the road - I have a good one in Akron - don't know where you live may be out of your way
