Newbie brick ? Ok I’m still in my first season and done one Sprint tri that went well. My goal is to work up to Olympic tri by Portage Lakes , Last night I did brick 30miles on bike jumped off and ran 6.5 for a long brick workout. It went well but I wonder if Id gain more from training using a series of shorter bricks bike/run, bike/run, bike/run? Also how many bricks per week and how often should I be doing them? Thanks Ed

bricks can be done a lot of different ways and it is good do do a mix - log bike - short run, long/long, short/ long and multiple or repeats bike/run/bike/run - Most newbies have trouble making the bike run transition and benefit from frequent short bricks - think like everytime you ride doing a 10 min run till your body gets used to making the transition. after that think about the event you are training for - like once a week with a bike run combination that totals 50-60% of the time you plan for the Oly. The repeat bricks I do early an late in the season to build base
