I may be over thinking again but I seem to find it difficult to have a good balance with these two.
To have 3 or 4 run days 3 bike days
and for all I have read about the importance of rest days
adding in a rest day
then adding at least one day of weights for the legs
how do you all fit it in?
Do you do them on the same day? then rest in between on swim days?
It just seems that there is not much time for recovery
I do not want to over train which is always a problem for me.

Firstly, you shouldn't stress over it. It's supposed to be fun. Secondly, have you ever considered a two week training cycle instead of a 7 day cycle. That way you could do one week run focused and the next week bike focused and perhaps get 10-11 rides/runs in the 14 day period. Gives you rest and ability to do weights, stretching, or whatever you choose.
Just a thought.

Just make sure you take one rest WEEK per month - where you really dial down the hours of training. Love those rest weeks !!

Wed. Fri. are your Tues. Thurs. Sat. the problem is you are working the legs every day. Is it okay to work legs every day? What I was considering is putting bike/run on same days then having swim days as a rest for legs I am just starting back today from having pneumonia. I tried to listen to the advice of rest. I want to really hit the run and bike this year I like the idea of 14 day schedule also mark i have never done the "rest week" Thanks for the thoughts guys any other thoughts are still welcome mike

A couple more thoughts.
During the rest weeks, I do NO MORE than 1 workout per day, again at a much lower volume - since many of those days are swims, the legs get plenty of rest.
During other times, you can "actively" rest your legs by tuning back the intensity when you feel exceptionally tired or sore. Biking is a great recovery tool for running.

I don't think it's a problem Mike, but i understand the concern.
Then again, as my base improves, im beginning to add a short (30mins) recovery run on tuesday and thursday mornings too; so i may not be the best person to ask.
