About 35 miles into my ride yesterday, I am flying down the big hill (going northwest) just past York Road on Valley Parkway with some dude sucking my wheel since Brecksville. Suddenly... POP I hit a bump hard enough to blow out my rear tire. Well, its no big deal as I have a new tube and air, etc.
So the guy who had been enjoying my draft goes by without a word. As do a bunch of roadies decked out in their color coordinated Euro-elite team gear.
Who is the first to ask if I am ok and need help? I believe it was the passing Cleve Tri Club group, headed by Angie. I don't even think you guys/gals knew it was me. Road karma is real. Even a little gesture will be repaid to you somewhere down the line.
Eventually, some little old Italian guy riding the adjoining trail on his bike path cruiser stopped and kept me company for the few minutes it took to do the switch-out, although I think he was more interested in my bike than in helping me (he was a bit disappointed when I told him that Cervelo is Canadian... not Italian!).

Karma will make it's way back to them. I once blew my tire on a mtn ride, and once I patched it and pumped it up, I pulled the pump and the stem core broke off- leaving me with a patched tire that couldn't hold air.. I ran about a mile on the trail, popped out on a road, and ran about 4 miles before a good sam picked me up and gave me a ride home. Karma will also make it's way back to those who stop. Kudos to the good samaritans!!! ;D -Mikey
