Hi all, I'm Tim from Brunswick Hills. I have been browsing these forums for quite some time but am finally getting serious about training. So I have a quick question which I'm sure some of you experts can answer. For Xmas I got myself a Cycleops Fluid2 trainer for my Felt F4c road bike to do some indoor training this winter. Well my wife bought me a Garmin Forerunner 305 for a present as well! What accessories should I get to work with the Garmin for indoor cycling training?
Thanks in advance for any help!
-Tim

I got the same thing for Xmas. I have used just the hr monitor for the cycling. There is foot pod for cadence for the Garmin but i have have cadence on my bike computer. What are you using for training. I am using spinervals. the aerobic base builder is pretty good for this time of year. Also, do your tire smell of burning rubber when you are done?

My next question was what program to use for training! You read my mind! So do you reccomend spinervals then? And as far as the tire burning smell, Ive only done one ride of about 40 minutes on it so far but I didnt notice anything like that.... Maybe the roller isnt tight enough on the tire and its slipping? (just a guess).
Also, does the cadence add-on to the Garmin unit provide distance when training indoors?

I wouldn't worry too much about the distance as it is not really a great indicator of what you might actually do outside. Intensity i.e. HR is a good gauge of your workouts. The cadence, however, is a nice feature that I have found helpful ie. 90-95 rpms is ideal for me.
