Jacqui, glad to see I am not the only brave soul out there. Have you run this race before; I haven't.

I have not, but a few of the guys that I run with have. I've been doing weekly long trail runs in south chagrin and have been told that the terrain is similar. Lot's of switchbacks, not too many flat spots. I'm planning on walking all of the steep climbs. Should be fun. There are 4 of us going...2 from clev hts, 1 from shaker and 1 from solon. Only 1 of the 4 has done it before.

I've been running Buckeye Trail sections between Brecksville and Peninsula, plus a 25K trail race in Youngstown in Sept., so I think (hope) I'll have a feel for the terrain. I'll look for your group on race morning. I usually run in a Fall/Spring Classic Half-M shirt, so I should be easy to spot. Good luck with the rest of your training.

Are you going by youself? We're planning on eating at an Italian place that's near the host hotel if you're interested. Otherwise I'll probably be wearing a bright yellow jacket (looking to be seen....1st day of deer season I've been told) and pink gloves. I would think the Buckeye trail would be perfect prep work for this.

Thanks for the invite, but my wife and I are staying in Nashville, which I believe is some distance from the host motel. If we change plans, I'll drop you a line closer to the date. Wearing yellow on the first day of deer season is a really good idea; I may have to rethink my running wardrobe.

Jacqui, I agree--it was a very tough course, but I had a great time. I looked for you at the start, but no luck. When I saw the results, I knew why I didn't see you during the race; you were at least 10 minutes in front of me. Congrats on a really nice run. Did you drive back home Sat. in the snow? We did and that was the wrong way to go. Otherwise, it was a blast. Steve

I bet we were near each other from time to time. I had a bright blue top on and a yellow jacket tied aroun my waist. I saw a guy with an osu hat on around mile 22 , thought it might be you but he was from columbus. This was my first marathon in about 7 years and definetly the most enjoyable. I hope to go back next year. We drove throught the snow coming home although had I been by myself I probably would have stopped. Are you doing the Buckeye trail run?

I also saw someone fairly early on that I believed might be you, but obviously not. It is always hard to find someone in the crowd of a race. I thought about the Buckeye Trail race at one point, but now think I'll give it a rest for awhile. Maybe I'll look into working an aid station instead. Have a good holiday and I look forward to meeting you at some race in the near future.
