I have a Cervelo Soloist that is 4-1/2 years old. Getting ready for a ride on 10-20 I discovered the right leg of the Carbon fork was cracked widely 3/4 of the way around. Bike has never been crashed. After I visualized what would of happened on a 30-40 mph decent into the valley, I headed to bike Authority. I knew this fork was not covered under Cervelo's recall program.
Thinking the only way I was going to get this replaced for free was to send the fork to Cervelo and cry a lot. This would take weeks and I would miss the last of outdoor riding this year.
As I walked into Bike Authority, Mike greeted me and took a quick look at the fork. He confirmed it was not under warranty, but he was confidant he could get it replaced no charge. He took a fork from an unbuilt Cervelo and would have it installed while this was sorted out. Mike called the next day to confirm the fork would be replaced and installed at no cost. This would of cost me $450.00.
This was much more than I expected. Thank You Bike Authority. It is great to do business in the retail sector where they remember your name and value long term relationships - a lost art.

I also would like to give a shout out to Bike Authority for the great service I recently received on my bike. Mike set me up on their video bike fitting program and he was able to spot some weaknesses in my position. After changing the stem angle and seat angles I immediately felt more comfortable which should translate to a better ride and more power to the pedals. You guys will have to check out their one of a kind in the area video fitting program. Thank you Mike and Sherman for all your suggestions and help.

Sherman here -Thanks for the kind words. It's amazing how sophisticated fitting has gotten using dynamic analysis. I'm glad we can offer the same systems as Olympic athletes use for position and power analysis.
On another note: just want to remind everyone how happy we are to be involved with CTC. It's a great group really doing a lot of exciting things for the community. Proud to be a part of it!

Sherm- I want to buy a forerunner 305 with cadence. What kind of price can you do? I would rather buy from you than go to ebay. Thanks.

Over the years, Sherman and his gang have helped me out a lot. Jen and I have bought three bikes there and lots of gear. But even if I just walk in with a handful of parts and a bunch of questions, I know they'll help me. They've also been one of the CTC's most important partners. For a club that relies on sponsor support to do many of the things it does, that's so important.
If you think you'll buy a bike this year, do me a favor and at least visit Bike Authority. This is not Wal-Mart or Target or Performance Bike. When you walk in and talk to Sherman, you talk to the guy who started the business and owns it. If you talk to his employees, chances are you talk to someone who's worked there for years.
Yes, there are other locally-owned bike shop options. Some sell good bikes and offer decent service (some, unfortunately do not). But none of them have supported the Club like Bike Authority has.
