I just sent the weekend in Ontario, WI, population 476 (or thereabouts) with family and friends. While I was there my boyfriend, Rich, and I decided to compete as a team in the Kickapoo Reserve Dam Challenge Triathlon. kvr.state.wi.us/category.asp?linkcatid=2197&linkid=949&locid=115I highly recommend this triathlon! It is certainly community oriented and not highly competitive (I only saw 2 aero helmets) but so much fun! Rich and I hopped into our canoe (no swimming) and paddled until we could not paddle anymore (well, we wanted to stop at 6.5 miles, but the race said we had to go 7). Then I did the bike leg -- 14 miles of hilly roads that reminded me a lot of Triple T, except I am not in quite the same shape so it seemed a lot harder. This is Amish country, so I saw several buggies and passed an Amish bakery (which I considered stopping at for a doughnut). 52 minutes later I pulled into transition and gave Rich the timing chip, then he was off on the hilly 5K trail run. Our total time was 2:45:54...good enough for 1st place in the 2-person coed division and we each got a cool canoe-shaped wood plaque. A bbq cookout and cookies rounded out the race. We will be back to defend our title next year and if anyone has a chance to do this race, it's a fun one for the whole family. Morena

That does look cool although I'm not sure about that canoeing thing. The word Kick-a-poo doesn't sound very appetizing...
