Hey everyone,
I'm running the akron marathon next saturday, its my first one. Should i eat something the morning of the race? if so...any ideas and when should i eat it? I was thinking of having a shake; i usually drink a muscle milk shake before all work-outs. would that be a good idea? Or should i try to get something solid down? any advice would be awesome.

Do what you have been doing. If a muscle shake gets you through a training run then stick with it. Two hours pre race is enough time.
My self, I go with a bagel and banana combo. I also will sip on a sports drink until the start.

Dittos to Charlies comment. Do what you have been doing before the long runs you ran during your training assuming of course you have done sufficient training if not it is a crap shoot. Make sure you know also what is on the course if it is different than what you have been using you need to make arrangements to carry something.

Or just make a piece of toast 2 hours pre race. That is about as bland as you can get. But it could still make waves on the belly. But you definitely need some food in you before and during.

Sticking with what you know works is the best plan this close to the race.
