Well I participated in my first oly. Actually Lorain makes it my second Tri ever. I will start out by saying humility is a positive training tool. The swim was so brutal. I did not train in open water this season. Big mistake! I must have swallowed a gallon of terrific Lake Erie water. It took me 37 min. to complete a 1500 meter swim . I totally redeemed myself on the bike portion,58 min. I had a major brain fart during T1 though. I had planned on taking a couple gels on the bike but forgot them. HUGE MISTAKE! I felt so crappy on the run at about the 5km mark. Even after taking two gels during the run. It felt like my leg muscles were starved for fuel. By the way great job Jodi, my hat is off to you and the terrific effort. I will say that yesterday was one of the toughest things I have ever done. I have a new found appreciation and respect for everything that goes into this sport. Triathlon is quickly becoming a lifestyle for me. I want to thank Sara and Eric for all their words of encouragement, and suggestions for training. I will be back next year, and I will do better. I hope I have learned enough to improve for my final race at Findley State Park on the 6th of Sept. I hope to see a lot of CTC members there.

I'll echo Jay's thoughts... struggling then improving is what keeps us coming back - race after race - season after season...

Great job, Jbird! Don't worry about the swim time. That course was WAAAAAAAY long and very undermarked. You looked very strong finishing the race and it was quite the effort for a first Oly! Congrats!

Hey Jason--CONGRATULATIONS on finishing a great race! I think Eric may have created a monster. You've had an amazing first season and I can't wait to see where you go from here! Great job!

Jason See you at Findley. I heard that water tastes a little better than Erie. Sid

I hear that the water there is delicious. LOL! Seriously though, the bike is supossed to be really fast. I am slightly concerned about the trail run. This year has been all about learning,so it only makes sense to taste one more aspect of the sport. Is there going to be a party/picnic afterwards?
