I have seen Carbo Pro mentioned a few times in a couple of the nutrition threads. I would like to try it for my longer runs & rides, but I haven't found it in any of the local running or biking stores. Can you only purchase this online? I checked one of the online tri stores, and they wanted $10 for shipping. Any recommendations on where to purchase?
Thanks, John

Thanks for the feedback Andrew & Debbie. Unfortunately, I wasn't spending enough to get free shipping with all3sports, so I ordered through sportsquestdirect.

Save your money. Go to a store that sells brewing supplies and buy maltodextrin by the kilo. CarboPro is just marked up malto. Add it to gatorade, or whatever you want to use as flavoring. You can get it up to about 600 calories per bottle pretty easily. It's my plan as soon as my life becomes less crazy and I have time to find a store. Learned the trick from my friend Jonathan. He has a very sensitive GI tract due to the fact that he has Crohn's and it works very well for him jonathancaron.com/:-) Jodi

There is a store on Mayfield Rd (near Green...I can't think of the exact intersection)that my husband frequents. I'll get him to look for some.

I love Carbo Pro. It allows me to carry a lot of calories with zero GI distress and it tastes just like plain water. I would love to mix my own Jodi but getting the mixture right is what scares me and although it isnt cheap it works great.

I love Carbo pro... on long bikes that is just about all I depend on, and I'm out there pretty long time. here's a trick for long distance. One bottle you fill with alot of carbo pro like 800+ calories or more depending how long your going to be out there. And you mark on your bottles your servings, (200 calories), so your bottle is marked in 5ths. Then you fill up your areobottle with one serving, and top it off with plain water and you got 200 calories. Adjust accordingly to your distances and needs. Works great in races since you get water handed to you at aide stations. I guess this will work for any liguid calories. Carbo Pro can be mixed pretty strong and still not get muddied down. debbie
