Sara, From one of the people that puts this on thank you for posting. Here is a link where you can find out more about the race and why we put it on each year. As a side note all entrants are registered into the raffle prize drawing which takes place following the event. The prizes this year are tremendous with more and more local organizations throwing schwag at us to give away. ccbhrunforyourlife.wordpress.com/

Thanks for that link! The race photographer took a picture of me with my son last year, and I was hoping I'd get to see it.

Sara,
Good Luck!! Last year North Olmstead kicked butt and took the $5k and they vowed to repeat this year. Also, Brooklyn has been pushing this race so they would be able to afford new phys ed. equipment. It looks like a great competition is brewing.
Stick around after the race too since we will be raffling off many prizes including tribe tickets, zoo passes and much more.
Lets all pray for good weather. The past 3 years have been moderate with sunshine so I hope the good weather streak continues.

unfortunately I am taking many of the North Olmsted participants away that did particpate last year... bad planning on my part to schedule a Girl Scout Camp out this weekend. Half of my girls and families did particpate in the 1 mile. My daughter (9) was the only kid in her school to do the 5k, although she walked most of it with daddy rollar blading with her. After I finished I had to circle back and get her and get her to run in. I placed in my division which is rare for me. Sorry I have to miss this year... They gave great prizes out too.

I'm in--the school district with the most representatives (students, teachers, etc.) wins $5,000! Go Rocky River! Then I'm going to have to get my husband to race, too. I'll be wearing my CTC visor. Since I'm really bad with names and faces, I'd appreciate it if you'd introduce yourselves and say hello.

Sara Jean, - the 1 mile fun run/walk counts in the numbers towards the school district. Hubby could do that if he didn't want to do the whole 5k. good luck, sorry you cant chase me this year!! hopefully it will stay dry
