Has anyone done this race? Is it a good race?

Haven't done this race, but Rick and NCN does a good job. From what I've heard, the course is very close to the lake, wind can get real nasty blowing over the cold lake. From looking at results, doesn't seem to be a real big turnout, which means you may be running alone for a god portion of the race.

I have done this race 5 or 6 times. Rick does the same course once in the spring and once in the fall. It weaves in and out of the neighboorhoods in Avon Lake then has a long stretch on the way back along lake road. Basically, the 15 k is one loop...the 30K repeats it.
I would say it is a good local race, relatively small, and good chances to walk away with some age group hardware.
On an important note, the race sponser used to own NCN fitness...which is no longer there...although the race is run out of the same spot. Last year they used the day care next to the old fitness center for a bathroom....with 1 tiolet, there was a HUGE line. Take care of your business before you get there just in case.

I have also done this several times including one year it was about thirty degrees and really windy. It was like a steeplechase race through the woods portion with all the trees down. It is a two loop course and one way you were bent down into the wind fighting it and the other way it was pushing you forward like a kite.
The food was great afterwards, chili, fruit, bagels etc... a real feast. I don't remember any problems with the bathrooms.
