I love this race! It was my first individual tri ever! Unfortunately, I cannot make it this year.
In the past the race has been very packed, and no assigned rack space, so I suggest getting there pretty early to get a good spot on the rack. The parking situation is the same. They manage to cram lots of people into a small area. The course, however, is pretty easy, with a few rolling hills on the bike portion. The run weaves around some of the little neighborhood around the lake during the last couple of miles.
One year my parents came to watch Steve and I race and packed a picnic lunch for afterward. Due to the fact that the location is at a private beach club and some of the members dislike having a large crowd of "outsiders" at their club, we were kicked off the picnic tables during the awards ceremony by some of the club members. So instead of eating my sandwich sitting at the table, I ate it sitting right next to the table, while being watched like a hawk. Very strange. Despite this, I still consider Clark Lake one of my favorites. The race has been around for many years and is put together well.

This is a great race, and was also my first tri when Alison convinced me to do it in 2003 We were actually just discussing that we'd like to go back maybe next year. I can't think of anything bad to say about this race, except what Alison mentioned. Good choice Waterloo is another great race in about the same area if you're looking for a different token MI race next year. It has a nice trail run, which is a ton of fun

I absolutely adore this race. I've done it the past two years. They have plenty of support and the bike and run are super flat. A bit of seaweed in the lake but nothing too bad!
Have a blast for me as I don't think I can make it this year.

Will do, I can't wait for this one, we always went there growing up. Thanks for all the input!
