I imagine that there will be a big group from the club doing this one. We have done it every year for the past 4 yrs. In my opinion, it is the best touring ride in the area. Great scenery, great organization, excellent rest stops and a really yummy meal at the end. STOMP comes close.. but not quite as good. I will be there doing the 50 miler with my husband. Last year we had a CTC group of 10 or so. sweetcornride.com/home.html

I will most likely be there. I have heard nothing but good things about this tour. Hope to see many CTC'ers out there.

I'm in for the 50-miler. I talked with the coach and she said my first century ride will have to wait until after the half-IM in August. Wise advice, I'm sure.

I'll be there for a very slow and steady century and then some gluttony of sweet corn at the end!

Brian and I will be out for the Century. Anyone who wants to start out together, plan on being there at 7am and departing once we're signed in. I'll have my CTC jersey on.

I'll be looking for you and Brian.....isn't it a group start or do you just leave as you like?

You leave as you like, but they advise certain times depending on the course you are doing, obviously earlier for the longer routes. Sign in starts at 7am, so we'll be getting there then. Should have a nice group.

I'm out for the 50-miler. We need to ship our bikes to Cali on Sunday, so the long ride will be Saturday instead. Enjoy some corn and cookies for me!

Seems like the club will be well represented for both the century and the 50. Since the 50 milers can sign in beginning at 8, how about meeting in front of the registration area to head out about 8:30? There will only be several hundred other people doing the same thing so I will wear a CTC shirt.

Paula- Jason and I are riding the 50 at an moderate pace with joanne and ron collins. Joanne and I plan to add the hills in while the guys hang out at the food stops... funny. Otherwise we are planning to ride together. You are more than welcome to join us... we are meeting at 8AM at registration. ANGIE

Those were some very tough conditions today. I did the 50 and feel real bad for anyone attempting there first century on that course today. I talked to one of the EMS guys at the finish, about 1:15, and he said they had allready transported 13 riders. 3 crashes and 10 heat exhaustion. Sure hope everyone made it home safely today.

Definitely tough conditions. Couldn't really use the HRM as the heat was wreaking havoc all over the place. Kudos to the Eddys folks and all the volunteers. There was plenty of fluids at all the stops.
