Anyone else doing this one? Or, has anyone done this in the past? It's in Geneva, NY, and is not too far away. I haven't signed up yet (debating between this and Steelhead) but this weekend would be soooooooooo much better for me than the weekend of Steelhead. Hmmmmm...decisions, decisions....

I did Musselman a couple years ago. Great race. Neat little town, plenty of pre-race activies, beautiful area, and a fun course. Clear lake to swim in. Bike is flat to rolling, some gradual climbs, I remember wind being a bit of a factor. You ride along the finger lakes, pass some vineyards. Run is along a lake, through a college campus and surrounding area. Flat, rolling, and a couple of climbs with downhills to match. Overall I'd say it was a fast course.
Haven't done Steelhead but have heard only good things about it.

I really wanted to do the Musselman, but I have a wedding to go to. May I recommend staying an extra night after the race and stay at the Vinifera Inn at the Belhurst Castle (I got married there). Every room overlooks the lake, and has a hot tub in the room. Although after the race you might use it as an ice bath! www.belhurst.com

Sara, I'm looking to do a 1/2 this same weekend. I was looking to do Muncie but I'm flexible. Either way it is a bit of a drive. If you're interested in carpooling let me know. I won't torture my family making them wait for me to finish a half.

I did Musselman last year and it was awesome. I highly recommend it. I also recommend staying the dorms and participating in the pre-race meal.
Good luck and have fun up there.

I’m probably going to be running this race. I grew up about 45 miles to the South in Ithaca. The area is “gorges”. If anyone is going and either wants to ride together or just hook up at the race let me know.

I'm looking forward to it. It might be my first half if I don't make it to Sylvania in June.

The 90% sure has just become 100% sure - the entry and check is in the mail - I was too cheap to pay the additional $4.95 to apply on-line. So, time to check out rooms in the area. Did I mention how pissed off I am at myself for the Cleveland Marathon - I WANT REVENGE ON THE MARATHON GODS.............just have to wait untill October to get it.......BUT I WILL GET IT.

I am about to register for Musselman. Anyone interested in getting a suite at the luxurious dorm rooms?
By the way, I have been plotting my revenge on the marathon gods since 2004. Sounds like those gods will be hunted by many at Columbus this fall.
