Kudos to all that raced the NCN Summer Du and Tri this weekend. Overall, race conditions were perfect. The morning was cool and the water was clear and smooth. Club members turned out in full force and took the top awards in both the du and tri. Two club members were in the top three women in the tri... Joanne was 2nd and Martha was 3rd. Many other members received top age group awards including Erin, JJ (this was her first), Matt and Brent. Charles, Debbie, John, Dan and Bill also did very well on the course. In the Du, Nancy took top place and June received a top age group award. Dan also did very well and was 3rd in his age group. The club really cleaned up. ;D
Nice to meet you all. Great racing.... keep it up. If I missed you... sorry... please add your report to this. ANGIE

It was good to meet everyone finally. I've been meaning to participate more than I have, but stuff keeps popping up preventing it. Anyway, it was good to make my face known so I'm not just some dude on the website. I'm happy w/ how I raced, and I'm even happier w/ how my body feels today. I'm not really sore at all which makes me think that maybe I could have pushed the last 5k a bit harder. At the time however I felt like I had cement shoes! My total time was 1:42. I don't know if that's fast or not. My splits were good (for me). First 5k was 24 ish, Bike was 42ish, and second 5k was 26 or so. I took quite a while at T2 b/c I felt like crap. Oh well. I think I'll do the next one on Aug 7. Who's in? dan

Congratulations to you all! Great showing by our club in both the duathlon and the triathlon. Angie failed to mention that not only did she place 1st in her age group, but was also the 4th overall female. Great job Angie!
June, I told you that you would be great!
Dan, did you find a good outfit to race in? Sounds like you had a fabulous race. Great job!
We all should be quite impressed with Debbie Lin. On Saturday, she rode 67 miles with Suzi, Leah and me. Debbie, if I'd have known you were racing Sunday, I might have gone for the shorter route. Looks like you still had a great race despite the extra miles! Congratulations!
Again, congratulations to everyone! Anyone racing Cleveland this weekend with me?

Dan, did you find a good outfit to race in? Sounds like you had a fabulous race. Great job! I bought some tri shorts from Fleet Feet. Oh and BTW, men don't/can't refer to it as an "outfit". It's "gear", "clothing", "apparral", etc. LOL Yea, I'm impressed. Totally actually. Most I've done on the bike so far is 28 miles so yea, Deb rules. dan

Haha...Thanks guys!
As I set off on the bike yesterday my butt was screaming bloody murder at me. It's still a bit pissed with me this morning but getting over it. ;D
I can tell you that had it not been for Suzi, Jen and Leah pulling me along, I probably would't have made it on the ride. As I was nearing the end of the toughest bike ride of my life, I actually contemplated whether I would forego my entry in Sunday's race. But as I got up yesterday morning, I wasn't super sore and thought I'd just use the race as another training day and of course go support all the club members that I knew would be there. I'm glad I did it and wasn't too disappointed in my time considering the workout the day before. Angie was right, the club sure cleaned up during the awards ceremony! It was great to be there and be a part of the all the happy faces.
Congrats on all those who took home trophies and to all those first timers yesterday!
Good times...
Deb
