Just a reminder about Tuesday's Newbies trail run.
Also, due to conflicts with a race on Saturday, June 18, the Newbies brick has been moved to Hinckley Reservation, Bellus Road parking lot. The meeting time is still 8:30 am. The Newbies page should be updated soon to reflect this change.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me.

For those living along Rt. 77, Becky provided directions from there:
"To get to Bellus Rd. parking lot at Hinkley Reservation- (From 77) If heading South on 77-take the Richfield exit. I believe it's exit number 143. Take a right and make 1st right onto Brecksville Rd. or Rt. 21. Go about 3-4 minutes and make a left on Rt. 303. This will take you through the town of Richfield. Shortly after going through town, make a left on Medina Line Rd. Go about a mile or so and make a right on Hawkins. Go to the next main road, which is State. You will cross over State and go straight and the road becomes Bellus. Go down the big hill into Hinkley Reservation. Parking lot on left at bottom of hill. If coming from 77 North, make a left of exit and go to Brecksville Rd. and follow the above directions. Be ready for some hills!"
Have fun on Saturday!

The newbies run may need to be canceled tonight. If the weather is bad (thunder, lightening and/or hail) at 6 PM, then the run will be canceled. Safety first! However, if it is just raining, then we will still have the run. Remember that averse weather conditions may exist on the day of your race, so it is good to practice in them. E-mail me if you have any questions. Jen P.S. If it is canceled, I will reschedule it soon.

The newbies trail run went off without a hint of rain. Nine of us slogged through the muddy trails of N. Chagrin reservation. I personally enjoy getting muddy and it is great training for the Dances with Dirt extreme trail relay I'll be doing in September. I hope everyone who attended had a great time!
Don't forget about the brick in Hinckley on Saturday. What more can you ask for: 15 miles of biking and 3 miles of running on a beautiful (forecasted) sunny day!

So, how did the brick go on Saturday at Hinckley? I'm sorry I missed it. I was thinking of you though. I attended a triathlon camp. We rode 35 miles from Brecksville to Wadsworth (which took us past Hinckley), then ran for 45 minutes and finally, rode the 35 miles back. There are some big hills in that Hinckley area. I hope you all had a good time and look forward to hearing about it!

I was totally bummed that I missed the brick workout, as I was looking forward to it for weeks. I got unbelievable lost--finally showed up at 9--but everyone was already gone. Not knowing the area, I drove to Peninsula for a ride and run on my own.
Those hills looked crazy--I'm assuming it was a tough workout.
