The next Newbies get-together has been set as a bike ride starting from Lock 29 at 8:30 am on Saturday, May 21. Directions can be found at www.clevetriclub.com/newbies.htmlIf you have questions, please e-mail me at ctcnewbies@yahoo.com. In the meantime, I would encourage you to join the group for any scheduled training session. Also, please join us for the picnic on May 7. There is a ride in the morning that day from the Mill Stream Run Reservation. I'll be there, so come on and join us! ;D Jen

Just a reminder about this Saturday's newbies ride. Based on the response I have received so far, all levels and types of bikes will be there. It should be a fun ride!
Hope to see you at 8:30 AM this Saturday at the Lock 29 parking lot! (There is an overflow lot if parking is unavailable at Lock 29. Just park there, then ride on over to the Lock 29 parking lot.)

Is Lock 29 the lot accross the street from Winkin' Lizard?

No, but it is nearby.
As you are heading east on 303, you'll pass the Winking Lizard on your left. Make a left at the next light (S. Locust street). Then turn left at the next street (E. Mill street). Go around the curve and the Lock 29 parking lot will be on the left just past the red building. Overflow parking is available a little further down the street on the left.
Hope to see you Saturday!

The Newbies ride went well on Saturday. We had 6 riders taking on the Peninsula roads. We did a 13.5 mile loop. Back at the Winking Lizard, everyone wanted to ride some more, so 3 decided to do a shorter loop while 3 went for the 13.5 loop again. Unfortunately, one rider got a flat, but we were able to change it and keep on moving fairly quickly. I hope everyone had fun. Samantha, Denise and Craig, it was very nice to meet and ride with you! Cat and Suzi, thanks for being there to support the new or returning triathletes!
If anyone who attended would like to say anything to get others to join us next time, please do.
Thanks, Jen
P.S. Samantha, you rocked on that mountain bike! If you ever get a road bike, watch out!
