I am a new member of the Tri club and hope to do a 1/2 Ironman this year. I have a fair amount of experience running marathons, but no experience with Tri's. Does the club have training plans for a 1/2 Ironman? If not where can I get a plan?

Great question - at the moment the club does not have a training plan section to the web site. I would suggest checking out www.trinewbies.com for a plan. This is a good place to start.

If you want a detailed training program with a online training log and you don't mind paying ~$120 for a year- check out www.trainingpeaks.com/I am currently using it and I really like it. You can get a free trial for a week. The workouts are more detailed and very specific. If you want a simple plan this is probably overkill. Also... linked to that is Gale Berhardt training plans for $34.95. She has intermediate and beginner plans for the half IM. Click on the training plan link there. She was the coach for the olympic triathlon team and her training plans are very well received. Another option is the training plans in the last 4-5 issues of Triathlete Magazine. If you are interested I can get them for you for free... ANGIE

I am planning on a 1/2 IM this year and found a training plan at Ontri.com.
