Are any of you following this on Twitter? I am following Lance, Levi, Johan Bryuneel, Cadel, Vaughters, Phil, Paul and Bobke, the photog Graham Watson and a few other riders. There are no huge insights but it's an interesting way to follow this. Lance Tweets a lot and usually within minutes of the stage finishes.
ANyhow, don't know if you guys Tweet, but I highly recommend it.
Mont Ventoux.

Happy Bastille Day! The teams seem to be revolting today because no radios allowed. Everybody seems to be going slower than they should be.

Interesting stage today with a few cat-1 climbs. Levi out too....do the other teams attack the nuts out of Astana now?

whoa...nice one today by Hincapie. The stage is set for the mountaintop finish tomorrow. Will Schleck come out in yellow with a huge day tomorrow? Or will Contador finally move to the front, where he is expected to be? Or, everyones favorite scenario....Lance still has his climbing legs (contrary to all the naysayers) and punishes everyone on the last climb. He is only 8 secs. back...

That sucks for George. Astana had no business setting tempo at the front, false or otherwise, and Garmin had nothing to gain aside from giving Columbia a big F you which is bad form as far as im concerned. It's not George's fault Garmin gives crappy lead outs and Tyler isn't fast enough to beat Cav.
I hope all that pointless tempo hurts Astana in the Alps now and Saxo smashes everyone to pieces with the Sorensens, then Andy runs away with yellow. Would like to see Jens and Fabian detonate the peloton right before a big climb too.
crappy indeed Lance. You can tweet you wanted George to get yellow as much as you like.....but actions speak louder than words.
I;m ready to see AG2R bugger off and lose the yellow tomorrow too, and see Garmin fall from the top 10. Really really petty to personally screw George because they can't find an answer to Columbia's lead-out.

One thing I read on Velo News which I found interesting.....there are some saying that it was Columbia's leadout for Cavendish to win the Peloton sprint that netted those 5 extra seconds.....and that George was pretty pissed about that.
Nice riding by Contador yesterday. Lance again didn't go after him and pulled back all of the attacks.

somebody needs to start a new poll. Who believes Lance 's claims that he will work as a good worker bee and help El Pistolero to the maillot jaune?
I for one, am having a hard time his ego will allow this without some type of drama.

Pulled back what attacks phil?! rofl lance straight up couldnt hang when the hammer was dropped, and he along with it. Hell, even Kloden rode away from him in the last 300m. If Lance could, he would have gone with Andy and sat on his wheel, or Frank, or Carlos, or or or.....he couldn't.
I wanted to see Lance do well yesterday...but he lost time to EVERYONE. He clearly doesn't have what it takes to win the tour, which is a shame, but thats the reality.

I'd have to agree with you Rob. He'll probably finish in the Top 5 - but this is definitely Contador's tour to win, there isn't even anyone close....
You'll have to pardon my wording of attacks, VeloNews had a much more "positive spin" on the matter, and sadly I had to get all my information from that, haven't watched yesterday's stage yet...on the agenda for tonight.
I can still hold out hope though, right?

In my dreams Andy and Alberto attack each other and destroy anyone elses chances at throwing down a good TT, and Lance gets back time, and then defends well on Ventoux.
I think Wiggins should be watched now though....climbing really well, and a good TTer.

I love that Contador says that he appreciated the work that Lance put in but he did not need his help today. Way to keep the new domestique in his place.
What is Cadel talking about that for professional reasons, he cannot say why he is a non-factor this year. Teammates?

It was amazing to watch Lance bridge that gap on Tuesday's stage.....felt like old times.
Then there was yesterday. Lance got left standing still a couple of times on attacks by others. I was sad to see Bradley Wiggins fall off the pace there on the last climbs, I was really pulling for him to have the deficit be close.
What the hell was up with Contador attacking the Schleck's when Kloden was up there with him in that group? Then when his attack didn't stick, looking over his shoulder wondering "where is my teammate?" You just destroyed your teammate - that's where he is - back down the mountain. Anyone read the interviews with Levi Leipheimer? He was extremely pissed off - talking about how if it costs Kloden a podium spot we'll know who to blame. The Schleck's looked really strong on that climb, it is pretty sweet to see two brothers work together like that.

From RadioShack's web site: "Beginning in 2010, Lance Armstrong will compete for Team RadioShack as a cyclist, runner and triathlete in events around the world, including the 2010 Tour de France"

There was some discussion that Kloden didn't understand Contador when the two were talking before the attack, but it just looked just like a bad decision all around. Likely excuse. Contador is riding for himself. Plain and simple. The question is, did he attack because he didn't want to jepordize his lead (seems crazy with Wiggins struggling) or did he attack because his ego was driving him to ride away from everyone on the toughest stage of this tour?

Contador tried to attack because his ego is big enough to make him think no one can hang. Thats often true, but he got checked by the shlecks a little yesterday. I'd love to see him crack and fall off the podium on saturday!
