Thanks to all who wrote. I wanted people who usually do not share to be able to express what they thought without being attacked or argued with. I know not everyone could resist. Also remember you can change your vote on this pole and the undecides can place a vote when they decide. it is interesting how close this poll reflects the nation. Maybe the nation media should write a story about the CTC site. Here are my thoughts. I am just sharing honestly . I know many will not agree. It is just what I see and my convictions. Economy Obama - is for socialist policies that have never worked for any country period. No one benefits when the Government takes from those who earn it to give to those who do not. It always means taking from people . They always object. You have to kill them when they object. It is the perfect path to making the entire country poor. North and South Korea are the perfect model. North has had most of it population on the edge of starvation for many years. South has the 8th largest GDP in the world. Same culture, language, people, weather. Only one difference. McCain - is not perfect here but far more toward individual responsibility than Obama. Wants smaller government. Defense Obama - has zero experience. Hard to say what he will do. Has shown a lack of wisdom in many comments dealing with how to make our country safe. Many of his own supporters concede this to McCain McCain - is battle tested he has the metal. We have not had a terrorist attack in 7 years. More of the same is good. Character Obama - If it were ONE "questionable association" I could deal with that. The problem is there are numerous and from every time frame of his life. His church which he uses as a claim to being a Christian is anything but Christian in its teachings. The connections with ACORN. The very large anonymous internet donor base. His numerous Anti - American comments, his " my Muslim faith comment". The fact that he was known to his friends as Barry until he went to Pakistan. It is to big a risk to hand the country over to someone who has only one notable quality, his speaking ability. I am reading about someone who had a very similar path to power. His only strength was he was considered one of the greatest orators of the past century; Adolph Hitler. Once he got power it was to late. It is not any one thing it is all of these together I cannot get around. Experience Obama has 137 days in the Senate. No real world experience in Government. I saw an interview where a room full of his supporters were asked a simple question. What has Barak Obama ever done? Not one person could name a single thing. I am still waiting to hear anything. McCain - This is his strongest point. He has experience and a history of not just following party lines. The most important issue. Our founding Fathers believed that without God's blessing our country was doomed from the start. Because of Benjamin Franklins direction they met and prayed for our country before writing the Constitution. ( self evident means ; any idiot should understand this) Notice two things. 1. Creator- they acknowledged God and the need for his blessing. 2. as important as liberty ( freedom, choice) is they placed LIFE ahead of freedom. The Bible gives very clear blessings and curses upon a nation depending on whether it follows him. Our nation had all the blessings the Bible listed but now we see all of the curses. There is one issue he said he would not pardon a nation for; The shedding of innocent blood which is abortion. Economics are a symptom of God's blessing or the lack of his blessing. This nation will never again see his blessing as long as abortion is allowed in this country. The French revolution put liberty first. The guillotine became its symbol. The Nazi's put quality of life ahead of life.Where did it lead? Mark my words. Once you open the door to killing babies you open the door to euthanasia and the slippery slope the Nazi's fell into will soon follow. The answer that will be turned to when social security dries up will be to kill the old people. Ironic huh? The generation that gave us abortion will experince euthanasia. John McCain has in the past and will continue to oppose abortion. Barak Obama has and will seek to remove all restrictions on abortion. He is the only senator to oppose the born alive act. That bill says that if an aborted baby is born alive you cannot kill it. Only Obama opposed this. Hillary and Kennedy supported it. Obama also wants partial birth abortion to be legal. You know; where the feet only come out and they poke a hole in the babies skull and suck out its brains. Then they deliver the dead baby. Obama says the woman has a right to do this. Wrong! our Governments first mandate from the founding fathers was to protect life. No woman has that right. One last issue. Israel. The Bible is clear that whatever nation blesses Israel will be blessed and whovever curse them will be destroyed. This has been proven throughout history. We are Israels' only friend. The day we turn our backs on them we are finished. I think McCain will be a greater supporter of Israel and that Obama may very well turn us away from being there friend. For the record ; I am not extremely happy with McCain. It is more that I oppose Obama. I think McCain is the lesser of two evils so to speak. Ultimately I think it is only a matter of time that our country will go down. A one world government is on the way. We will be one nation with Canada and Mexico. My only hope is we elect someone who will slow the process down. I know there is only one guy who has all the answers and who can fix this messed up world. He is easy to recognize. He has nail prints in his hands and feet for us all. We cannot elect him but some day he will rule the world. Then and only then will there be peace. One of his names is " The Prince of Peace" and he has sure given me peace no matter who wins this election. mike

Then can you ever justify war? For the record I respect and think very highly of everyone on this site. Triathletes are a very select and special group of people and do things most others would only dream about. There is a depth of character most lack. Also I pray for each one on this site. As for life and war. When war is to protect life then it is justified. If I was out in public with my daughters and someone threatened them I would whatever it took to protect them even kill them if there was no stopping them. Many died when we fought Hitler in WW2 . It was to preserve and protect life. The only people who should die are those who do not respect life and who have and will murder others. There are some in this world that cannot be reasoned with. When they are determined to destroy us then war is the right choice. There is a diference between murder and killing. Rob do not take it personal. I have not dismissed anything you have said I just am not convinced by all that you said. You have made me examine closely what I believe. I have considered what you have said more than anyone else. I know you are not stupid so you have made me question. If you give me logic and evidence I am open but so far I see more logic and evidence for what I have shared. That is why I waited so long to write. I wanted to hear and weigh the thoughts of others including you. I have no animosity or anger toward you. I hope you do not toward me. I have learned in coaching a debate team that the only time someone gets upset is when they are insecure and unsettled in the position they have taken. If you are correct in what you have shared then relax. The truth will become evident. If you find yourself angry then examine yourself and figure out why. Am I still allowed to ride with you next year on the group rides? I know some on this sight might think that I am some mindless Bible nut who has mush for brains and does not think anything through. I am just the opposite. I grew up hating religion and I still do. When I attended high school In California, I took the California SAT and scored the highest in the history of the school district. When I went in the Air force on the entrance test, I was told I scored the highest they had ever seen. When I took the officers test I was told the same thing. I asked for the longest and hardest school they offered and was told no one ever graduates from it as an honor Grad. It took an average of 95 % or higher on tests given every week for 11 months and I averaged 98.9 %. I say this not to lift up myself but to say that I am not stupid and do not accept things at face value . I rely on logic and reason. If I am wrong about something you have to prove it to me. Logic and reason have me convinced that the Bible is true and Jesus is who he said he was. With that there are cerain things that will follow. I almost forgot to write my own thoughts. I am going to be a poll observer tomorrow in an area of east cleveland that no one wants to go to should be interesting I have a feeling that alot is going to happen in the next couple of days that will shake up our country no matter who wins mike

Triathlon does suck. Once I get out on the run and everything starts to hurt I wonder why I participate in this stupid sport!
Politics suck too but I can't keep from throwing my $.02 out there.
Mike is right, history will be made today no matter who wins this election.
Who would win a triathlon? I think McCain might be past his multi-sport prime, but Palin might take that one! Didn't she run a 4 hour marathon?

Matt Collister I know enjoys an occasional Marlboro Red in transition but other than that not many smokers are very successful athletes. It kind of steamed me when he made the cover of Men's Health.

The results were 1200 for Obama to 15 for McCain. I was in the minority by about 50 to 1 amoung poll workers and overall about 1200 to 2. It was very interesting. I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly suprised how good everyones attitudes were. I just introduced my self and even though I was from " The enemy's camp" I ended up with about 50 new friends amoung the poll workers . I was able to talk without an attitude . I am certain the biggest problem is not what people on both sides disagree on but the attitudes that come in. Every person shook my hand afterward and said they were very happy that they could talk to me and there be no attitude. It was the first time I have been in a room with 400 people and be the only person white. It was a good thing. It has never been as clear to me that we are all the same. The Bible says; "Man looks on the outward appearance and God looks on the heart." Though I do not agree with most in who they voted for I understand why. The issues are not the biggest danger but the nasty attitudes. I will not stop sharing how I see things but I am committed to not fall into having a rotten attitude toward someone I disagree with. It is unneccessary, harmful and sure will not win anyone . Charlie I may disagree with you on some things but you always seem to have a good attitude. Thanks mike

I think McCain needs to be credited for such a gracious and sincere concession speech. I really believe he was always far more moderate than we have seen in the last 12 months; much more like the man who lost to Bush in 2000. He clearly did not jive with his supporters when giving his speech....and i only hope that some of them can put that aside and realise that this was not close.....Obama won in a landslide. As such, they should respect the choice of the USA. To do anything less is a slap in the face to what they claim to hold dear....and that is the the principals of the United States.
Lets hope the country can accept him as the true leader and get nuts done. Fix the economy, redefine Americas role internationally, and once again put America at the forefront of the free world on issues like medicine, education, industry, energy, invention, and progress in general. Lets make the country a place people can be proud of again, and restore its reputation in the international community; because the fact is, the USA is still the richest nation on the planet, and still holds the most influence. The rest of the western world will need her to battle emerging giants like China (who aren't all bad, but represent a significant threat to our way of life) and restore a solidarity in the international community.
With the USA back in the fold, we will be better able to tackle problems that eclipse any one country or people.....and maybe together, cure some of the problems that plague human kind as a whole.
This is a good day, and although I'm not an American citizen (yet). I am very proud and feel very privileged to have witnessed such history.
