Hey guys,

I finally got the details up on sssmst.com... sorry for the late notice!

The indoor cycling series will be just like last year, pretty much. It's Thursday nights, 6:30-8:30, beer included again!

For anyone who wasn't there last year, come check it out... it's a great facility and (I hope!) a really great workout. We're very open to new ideas, so please let us know if you have any!

Andy
I would leave the workouts the same. You guys did a great job last year. The workouts got mixed up by who ever was leading it that week. Attending these workouts definitly made me a better cyclist. No way to these by yourself in the basement.

Does everyone go at their own pace?

I'm coming back from a shoulder injury and basically haven't done more than 45 minutes of cardio or any training since early September.

Basically.....would I be in over my head?

The class is lead by an instructor - the entire 2 hours has a variety of drills, cadence, hill, power and speed work. Heart rate, precieved exhertion and cadence goals are stated within each set. So there is a ton of structure and guidance in terms of how to do a bike workout on the trainer.

With that said - each person pushes them selves as is appropriate for their fitness level, ability and experience. N one gets dropped.

We had a large number of newbies attend last year - and the feed back was all positive. Really a trainer class like this may be the VERY BEST opportunity to train and learn on a bike because no matter how fast or skilled you are - you will always be at the front of the pack.

Also- the after class socials are priceless. The amount of information, experience and friendship shared may be the biggest benefit.

No one should hesitate for any reason to come out and try a few classes - without a doubt you will be hooked!!!

Thanks Rob for the helpfull feedback!

I am actually really excited to participate. I can't stand being inactive and the last few months have just KILLED me. Right now biking is the only thing I am allowed to do so hopefully these sessions will be the jumpstart that I need to get back on track.

See you there!

few additional comments and house keeping items before this Thursday's FIRST trainer series ride.....

Ride starts at 6:30 sharp - the first time you attend there are a few forms you need to complete and sign. Give your self a couple extra minutes to get this done

With that said - people begin to set up at 6 pm - so plan accordingle - it takes about 15 min to set all your stuff up - we have had any where from 20 - 50 people attend on any given night - more crowded (particularly after the first of the year) means the need for more time to set up

bring your BIKE and TRAINER - if you done have a trainer you can use one of the clubs stationary trainers - but quantity is limited

dress accordingly - the room (for some) will get pretty warm - make sure you bring AT LEAST 2 WATER BOTTLES - you will sweat a TON!!!!

5 Seasons provides towels for the work out and a very nice locker room to change/shower in. with that said please DO NOT use the towels to wipe off your bike - the towles get greasy and that is BAD for 5 seasons - also please don't TAKE TOWELS HOME!!!

No matter your fitness or experience - this class is fantastic for EVERYONE - no one should be worried about attending - you will get through the class no problem - have a fantastic work out - and WITHOUT a DOUBT learn a ton. Winter trainer rides are some of the best work outs you can get - newbies to vets will get a lot out of these sessions - plan to attend EVERY week!!

Please stay after class and grad a drink and some food - the social aspect of these rides is great - the entire group is very inviting and welcoming - it is a tremendous opportunity to mix and mingle with lots of local triathletes.

other questions post em

Final note !!!!!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A 5 SEASONS MEMBERS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS CLASS

The costs for NON-5 Seasons members is a $10 drop in fee for the class. However there IS a CTC discount - but you MUST bring your CTC membership card to get the discount. Discounted cost is $7!!!!

I will ridiculously miss these trainer sessions this year! For anyone with an early season race (I did New Orleans 70.3 last April and these sessions REALLY helped!), you should go. For anyone who is a newbie just looking to build fitness, you should go. For anyone who likes to drink beer and eat food with friends, you should go. Unfortunately, for people like me, who are almost 7 months pregnant--yeah...you probably shouldn't go. :)

Hope you all have fun!

Yea Alison I can't run but I'd like to go, get my butt kicked! If anything being on the bike 2hrs is gonna hurt the booty :) and it's with friends...I wouldn't be doing 2hrs now on my own!

Just a few quick reminders:

-- It's HOT in that room-- hydrate today!

-- Show up a little early to do a bit of paperwork

-- Someone from sssmst will meet you at the door. Feel free to drop off your stuff and then go park your car. It's always a handful.

See you tonight!

Legs say i rode tonight, and they can't tell if it was on the trainer or outside....that's a good sign.

2010 season started tonight.

Great class last night everyone.

Definitely can't get motivated to do that type of ride at home.

It was a fun time last night, those last few sprints almost made me want to puke. Lol

Definitely can't get that good of a workout at home.
